Counter-Strike professional player Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev and Kick streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa are involved in drama on X, and fans wonder why the two are beefing.
Despite his prolonged break from the top level of CS2, s1mple remains one of the most iconic players in all of esports. The GOAT of Global Offensive has dabbled with a return thanks to Saudi Arabian organization Team Falcons, but he has yet to approach his previous peak. Still, the hotshot stays active on social media, sharing his thoughts on the game and talking with other personalities. In the most recent instance, the sniper took a pot shot at Amouranth, and the Kick star has responded in kind.
Here’s how a simple photoshop got both personalities involved in a spat.
An X user shared an image that had s1mple wearing a Wildcard jersey, but the CS2 player replied negatively and insulted Amouranth in the process.
On December 19, 2024, X user statsmeister shared a picture with CS2 players wearing jerseys of different teams. While the fan was only sharing his preference for player moves between teams, s1mple didn’t like that he was wearing a Wildcard jersey.
The CS2 pro s1mple replied to the X post and questioned what kind of “Mickey Mouse jersey” was on him. The Wildcard X account shot back with a picture captioned “Me looking for falcons in Shanghai.”
This was an insult aimed at both s1mple and his squad Team Falcons as it failed to qualify for the CS2 Shanghai Major. s1mple replied with an image that said “OnlyFans detected, opinion rejected.” This was a dig at Wildcard co-owner Amouranth who is also an OnlyFans model.
Amouranth replied to s1mple’s image questioning whether that’s why he doesn’t listen to his mother. The OnlyFans model further stated in the tweet that “incel detected insult redirected.” An innocent tweet by a fan escalated drastically and started the beef between s1mple and Amouranth.
However, this isn’t the first beef Amouranth has been involved in during the CS2 Shanghai Major. When Wildcard reached the elimination stage of the CS2’s Perfect World Shanghai Major, a news outlet referred to the team as Amouranth’s team. This didn’t go down well with Wildcard’s Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek.
He tweeted his displeasure with Amouranth’s association with the team. This started the beef between him and Amouranth and the Kick streamer threatened him. In a tweet, she said, “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Journos dropping my name to reach a wider audience is part of my value add.”
