Why was Metro banned from Twitch?
Metro revealed Twitch banned his channel for “hateful conduct.”
The streamer denied that he had done anything to deserve such a ban, and said the platform didn’t provide any specific examples of the alleged offense.
Twitch doesn’t publicly reveal why it takes action against streamers or channels, but Metro was eager to tweet about his ban. The streamer posted a screenshot of an sent to him directly by Twitch. The message specified that his channel had been suspended for “promoting, encouraging, or facilitation the discrimination on denigration of a group of people based on their protected characteristics.”
The content creator said he tried to appeal the ban because he believed it was unwarranted, and he alleges Twitch hasn’t told him what the offense was or exactly when the violation occurred occurred.

One user on social media responded by claiming the streamer was likely banned for discriminating against Russians, but the content creator denied the accusation. Metro then doubled down and made another tweet, tagging Twitch and calling the platform out for unfairly suspending his channel without telling him what exactly he did wrong.
Fan reaction to Metro’s ban has been mixed, with some supporting the streamer and requesting that Twitch reinstate his channel. Others have been more cynical, claiming that the streamer has an attitude problem and that it’s no surprise Twitch had suspended his channel. Some have even gone as far as to say the streamer’s actions are so troublesome that they wouldn’t be surprised if he was eventually banned from Deadlock as well.
Is Metro’s Twitch ban permanent?
No, Metro’s Twitch ban is not permanent, as the streamer has only been given a seven-day suspension from the platform.
Twitch takes its rules seriously and is notorious for swiftly
banning streamers
if they violate the platform’s official terms of service.
Metro confirmed the ban will last for one week, and while that may seem like a slap on the wrist, if the streamer continues to break rules the platform can take more severe action against him next time. Twitch continuously urges streamers to follow its rules while trying to maintain a positive user experience among
ongoing controversy
around the platform.
