Cloud9 vs LYON LCS Summer Playoffs Upper Bracket: Best Bets and Predictions

LYON Lcs

It’s a great time to be a League of Legends esports bettor with the LCS Summer playoffs heating up. We have Cloud9 looking to slay their playoff demons against LYON, a side that is looking to win their third straight championship.

With LYON picking Cloud9 as their opponent, perhaps they are extremely confident they will get the job done, or are they underestimating the boys in blue? Stay tuned as we give you some of the best odds for C9 vs. LYON.

LYON Are Extremely Confident

It’s safe to say that LYON has gotten the opponent they wanted. In a recent pros episode, LYON players seemed not to want to face FlyQuest, a squad they respect massively despite their young age. They go up against C9, and when it comes to Worlds qualification series, C9 do not get it done when it matters the most. Blaber has not gotten the better of Inspired in a very long time, and it’s tough to bet against LYON here. So here are some odds we think you will like:

The second bet is the one that is going to bring in the cash. Many are predicting that LYON is going to 3-0 C9. They did so the last time they played against one another in the playoffs, and now with the added pressure of Worlds qualification on the line, it’s looking all but certain that LYON are going to sweep this series 3-0.

There is no denying that Cloud9 has some very talented players. The fact of the matter is, when it comes to clutch time, they have failed to get it done. It’s no longer just a string of bad games; they have a pattern of choking in playoffs. And while, to their credit, they faced some adversity against Shopify Rebellion, LYON are a different beast altogether.

Assistant coach Yamato, on several occasions over the past week, has outlined how C9 can make this a competitive series. They have to control the sidelines and stop defaulting to grouping mid and looking for a pick. This is what happened when the squads faced off in Mexico last month, and again when Cloud9 faced Shopify.

Apparently they are doing much better in scrims against the top teams, but given they have yet to showcase that improvement on stage, it’s very unlikely that it shows when the pressure cranks up to a thousand.

☑️ My Verdict: Lyon to win easily

While C9 are showing improvements, LYON is simply a mountain too high for them at this stage. They need a good series to even believe they have what it takes to compete for the championship this split.

Though for many C9 fans, their sole focus is qualifying to their first international event since 2023. C9 have another series on the horizon, likely against FlyQuest, which is when the pressure will be at its highest.

For this series, I struggle to see LYON winning anything but by a 3-0 score. They 3-0’d them in the playoffs last split, won 2-0 in the regular season, and Inspired has had Blabers number time and time again.
