Our pickTeam Liquid to win, over 2.5 maps
Betting favoriteCloud9

Cloud9 and Team Liquid have returned to the LCS with both teams seeing significant changes to their rosters. While Cloud9 picked up the former Liquid mid-laner APA, Team Liquid brought in a new top, jungler, and mid player. Despite these changes, TL could have a real shot at causing a major upset in this split, and that upset run might be starting right here.

Cloud9 vs Team Liquid match preview

Betting tip: Cloud9 and Team Liquid are likely closer in skill level than they were last year, which could lead this match to a third game.

Our Cloud9 vs Team Liquid pick: Total maps to be over 2.5 @ 1.78.

Cloud9 vs Team Liquid match analysis

Team Liquid may have started 2025 with a bang, but the team really dropped the ball as the year continued on. Cloud9 also struggled at times, but its performance inspired more confidence in its roster. Liquid’s former mid laner APA has now been acquired by Cloud9 in C9’s sole move, while Liquid’s answer to its 2025 season was to change every player outside of its bot lane.

Team Liquid now has some powerhouse players who could really spell some danger for Cloud9 in the ongoing LCS Lock In split. The team’s new mid-laner Quid was one of the only Western players to perform well against a Korean team at last year’s League of Legends World Championship, and new jungler Josedeodo has much experience, playing in the role at the pro level since 2017.

But the team’s biggest strength may be the former BRION player Morgan, who was considered one of the more consistent top laners in the LCK before he moved to Liquid.

Cloud9 has a fairly strong bottom lane in Zven and Vulcan, but the squad suffers from a seeming lack of teamwork and coordination. Still, Cloud9’s performance last year should give it the confidence to go all in from the start, potentially letting the team get an early first blood. That could be a strong pick for bettors to make for this early-season match.

As for the match winner, both teams have their strengths and weaknesses. A majority of Cloud9’s roster has been playing together for a while, while three of Liquid’s players are fairly new. A third map promises a solid return on odds, but Liquid may be able to cause a bit of an upset by sweeping this match and keeping the games played under 2.5. Our bet will still be the over on 2.5 maps considering the return.

Cloud9 vs Team Liquid betting picks & predictions

Team Liquid may have surprised many by qualifying to last year’s First Stand tournament, but its performance the rest of the year made it clear that something had to change. While the roster may take some time to adjust, the team has more than enough potential talent to win against top LCS teams, including Cloud9, and become a new favorite. It’ll have to begin with this match right here, and we do expect Liquid to come through.
