Bilibili Gaming beats T1 at MSI 2026
Bilibili Gaming faced T1 in round 1 of the
2026 Mid-Season Invitational.
In five games, BLG took down the World champion. The LPL first seed now moves on to face LYON in round 2, while T1 goes to the lower bracket.

BLG went up against the LCK’s second seed, and the match turned into a brawl, a rare sight for this tournament. That said, even though T1 won two games, BLG had the lead for most of the series. Had the LPL representative not given away their lead on the first map, this would have been another 3-0.
T1 never managed to get an early advantage, and only once did they get ahead in the mid game. Adding to this, they made several gambles in draft that cost them dearly in the end.
Most notably, they first picked Trundle in the final game while leaving Kindred open. The eternal hunters are both among Trundle’s strongest counters, and one of Peng “Xun” Li-Xun’s known pocket picks. T1 didn’t push BLG into picking a tank, either.

Extending BLG’s record at MSI
While this may come as a surprise for one who focuses on the World Championship where T1 hasn’t lost a single Bo5 against the LPL,
MSI isn’t like that.
At Mid-Season Invitationals, BLG is now 4-1 against them.
Bilibili Gaming has been one of the favorites at this event after winning First Stand, but where they stand against the LCK has been a mystery. This was a 3-2 win, and it was only Korea’s second seed, but it was a win.
Next up, they’ll face LYON in a match that heavily favors them. Afterwards should come the upper final, where
they’ll most likely get their true test against Hanwha Life Esports.
As for T1, the schedule is FURIA, then probably G2 Esports, and Top Esports to follow. Interestingly, this team has never lost just once against the LPL. So far, T1 either wins every match against China, or loses to them twice.
Does this mean that the same thing will happen again, that TES will beat them? No, this is partly just a statistic. At the same time, it’s also an indicator of the relative strength of the two regions.
