Great builds in Genshin Impact start with artifacts, and here’s how players can get their hands on the ones they need.
As players level up in Genshin Impact, the world level rises, leading to tougher enemies to face. On top of that, endgame content such as the Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater are notorious for being unforgiving to their players. In order to take these challenges on successfully, players will need well-built characters and teams, and that begins with collecting artifacts.
Artifacts are equipable items that increase such stats as attack, defense, health, energy regen, crit, and more. Without them, a team can get wiped out in a single hit or fail to do any meaningful damage at all. With that in mind, here’s how to farm artifacts in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact provides two main ways to farm artifacts: artifacts domains and artifact strongboxes.
One major step in getting that perfect build in Genshin Impact is draining resins in artifact domains. There are 17 domains across Teyvat, each offering two different artifact sets. To receive drops, players must spend 20 original resins or one condensed resin per run and allow their luck to decide the rest. Artifact rarities are also influenced by the world level of the player.
Besides a hefty amount of resin, make sure to bring a strong team that can make each run go smoothly. One should also take the challenge effects and the enemies in it into consideration. For instance, Momiji-dyed Court has areas within the field that grant players either an ice or fire damage boost, which is perfect for characters including Arlecchino and Wriothesley.
If they can’t handle it solo and want to speed things up, Genshin Impact offers a co-op feature that allows up to four players to team up for more efficient artifact farming.
Since version 2.0, Genshin Impact has given players another way to conveniently farm artifacts. Just head to any crafting bench in Teyvat, go to Mystic Offerings, and pick from the available artifact strongboxes.

While it doesn’t take up any resin, players will need to permanently destroy gold artifacts in order to get new ones. Sacrifice three five-star artifacts, ideally those with mediocre main and substats, to receive one. To make this process both easier and faster, players can opt to use the auto-add feature. Just be sure to lock artifacts with good stats, as players may salvage and waste them without realizing it.
Artifact strongboxes unlock for players upon reaching Adventure Rank 45, so you’ll need to play the game for some time before accessing this opportunity for farming artifacts.
