The best way to play Holly, a festive holiday slot
Holly breaks away from the typical holiday and Christmas-themed slots by keeping its festive look while building its own identity through Creeping Wilds, two-tier free spins, and a calmer winter aesthetic, and we can help prospective players to understand the best way to play it and pursue its winning potential.
The holidays are the perfect time to spin some reels designed for the festive season, but most Christmas slots can get repetitive after a while. Holly takes a different route. Developer Wicked Games leans into a theme featuring a forest nymph with glowing green eyes and a softer winter aesthetic. The paylines here stay simple, the borders use light seasonal touches, and the game relies more on its features than on noisy decor.
Holly’s real appeal is its payout potential, which can feel surprisingly rewarding for slot bettors once they get a feel for how to play the game.
Holly gameplay and features
Holly runs on a 5×3 layout with 25 fixed paylines, medium volatility, and a 96.16% RTP. The base game centers around two recurring mechanics: Creeping Wilds and Wicked Spins. Creeping Wilds land with directional arrows and convert an entire line of symbols into wilds in the indicated direction, and these transformations can also reveal hidden scatters.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Reels | 5×3 |
| Paylines | 25 fixed paylines |
| RTP | 96.16% return to player, fixed across the game |
| Max win | Capped at 3,000x the bet |
| Volatility | Medium |
| Minimum bet | $0.25 |
The Wicked Spin symbol appears exclusively on reel 5 and awards a fixed 20x–200x instant payout, but only when it lands without forming a standard winning combination. The chances of this happening are rare, which is exactly what makes it special and worth spinning for.

Free spins come in two tiers. Standard free spins offer extended spin counts but no major modifiers. Super free spins, triggered by a Super Scatter or by upgrading during the regular bonus, introduce a progressive win multiplier that increases up to 4x. This multiplier applies to all wins inside the feature, giving the Super version noticeably stronger potential than the standard one.
Those feeling impatient can simply buy the features, but it can be slightly pricey at 60x the base bet for standard free spins and 150x for super free spins. Holly also includes an Ante Bet option, which doubles the stake to increase the chances of triggering and retriggering free spins. While not guaranteed, it increases the frequency of bonus hits.
How to play Holly
For bettors trying to figure out how best to play Holly, the features to look out for are definitely those that lead to free spins. Not only do these features increase winning opportunities, in Holly they can also increase the very multipliers that are accessible. So not only are players getting more opportunities to win, each of those opportunities brings with it multiplicative potential.
Super free spins are the best opportunities given the degree to which multipliers are increased by the feature. Naturally, these are also more difficult to find, requiring either a Super Scatter discovery or a bonus upgrade. But if players can find the super free spins, that’s a real opportunity to realize the payout potential in Holly.
Holly slot pros and cons
Holly looks dreamy and has the perfect aesthetic for the holiday season, but it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Wicked Games’ mystical slot is perfect for bettors who don’t mind slow and steady play, but those after a Christmas miracle may quickly tire out during their jackpot hunt and may not find a prize big enough to justify continuing to spin the reels, pushing them to look at games across other online betting sites instead.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Frequent Creeping Wilds | Low max win |
| Two-tier free spins | Regular FS round is plain, offering minimal bonus variation. |
| Wicked Spin on reel 5 offers 20x–200x fixed payouts when it lands clean |
Holly slot rating
Holly is a relatively simple and laid-back slot for bettors who want to start small and build steady returns over time. The max-win cap is modest, which keeps expectations realistic alongside its 96% RTP.
With features like Creeping Wilds, Holly can deliver frequent smaller hits at consistent pace, making it ideal for stress-free festive gameplay that doesn’t overwhelm or demand high-risk wagers. And its super free spins do hold the promise of jackpot potential if players can unearth them.
Our Holly rating: 3.5/5
