The second half of the Rinascita patch is bringing Roccia to Wuthering Waves, and many players are now curious about the best build and teams for the new character.
Wuthering Waves 2.0 has rolled out loads of new content with Rinascita opening its gates and Carlotta making her grand entrance. But that’s not all. Midway through the patch, Roccia’s stepping in as a five-star Havoc resonator wielding a gauntlet.
Wuthering Waves | Resonator Combat Showcase | Roccia
The First Mate of the Fool’s Troupe follows the same archetype as Zhezhi and Yinlin, acting as a sub-DPS that buffs their respective elements. Once she’s out, she’ll be an incredible support for Camellya and will have a serious impact on her team—assuming that she has the best Echo set and weapons build.
Roccia fills in the sub-DPS slot as a heavy-attack scaling havoc unit that also provides solid buffs and grouping in Wuthering Waves.
From a combat perspective, Roccia’s resonance skill whips up a tornado that pulls enemies together. Compared to Jianxin’s or Jiyan’s ultimates, hers takes the crown by a long shot, as it’s perfect for dealing with clustered enemies. After a slight delay, she dives in with three plunges, dealing massive havoc damage across a wide area. Her resonance liberation is a bit more straightforward. It deals a single instance of damage and offers a flat attack bonus. The higher her crit rate, the bigger the buff, maxing out at 200 flat attack if she hits 70% crit rate.
Roccia’s buffs are the highlight of her kit. Her outro grants a 20% havoc damage boost and a 25% basic attack damage amp. Similar to how Yinlin pairs perfectly with Xiangli Yao or Zhezhi with Carlotta, Roccia’s kit is the best match for one of the best DPS units in Wuthering Waves. Camellya dishes out havoc damage with most of her output scaling off basic attack, making Roccia an obvious pairing for her.
Now that Roccia’s here, she essentially serves as a better and pricier version of Sanhua. Roccia can’t quite match though is Sanhua’s shorter field time however, which is what works best with Camellya.
Roccia’s best Echoes for her Wuthering Waves players are Midnight Veil and Moonlit Clouds. To maximize her buffs, players should aim for a 70% crit rate. The rest of the stat allocation should focus on crit damage, havoc damage bonus, heavy attack damage bonus, energy regen, and ATK%.
Midnight Veil is undoubtedly Roccia’s best-in-slot. This sonata effect essentially lets the team’s main DPS or incoming resonator deal a higher amount of havoc damage from its damage bonus effect. Not only that, it also ramps up Roccia’s personal damage through its two-piece set effect.
Roccia has two options for the main slot: Lorelei and Nightmare: Impermanence Heron. But Lorelei should prove to be the superior option. This Echo provides both havoc damage and basic attack damage, while Nightmare: Impermanence Heron buffs resonance skill damage. With this in mind, this sonata effect and main Echo could also work well when Roccia is deployed as a main DPS.
Here is the list of all Midnight Veil echoes in Wuthering Waves:
Moonlit Clouds is a favorite Echo set for many supports, including Yinlin and Zhezhi, and Roccia’s no exception. This Roccia build helps her charge resonance energy for her liberation, extending her flat attack buff, plus it gives a team-wide ATK% boost when her outro hits.
Impermanence Heron as the main Echo lets Roccia do more for the team as a sub-DPS support. When it hits an enemy, she gains energy and the next resonator after her outro gets a solid 12% damage boost.
Here is the list of all Moonlit Clouds echoes in Wuthering Waves:
As Roccia’s signature weapon, Tragicomedy is the best weapon players can equip on Roccia. Other gauntlets such as Celestial Spiral, and Abyss Surges come next in order of preference.
Whether Roccia’s played as a DPS or sub-DPS, Tragicomedy or any weapon that boosts crit rate will pair perfectly with her. Her signature weapon Targicomedy is always the better choice for the best Roccia build, offering a massive boost to both attack and heavy attack damage.
The Gauntlet from the standard weapon pool is also a decent choice for a good Roccia build. It provides plenty of attack stats, and the energy regeneration helps her access her resonance liberation more quickly.
If players have the Wuthering Waves battle pass, they can grab Stonard for Roccia. It offers a solid boost to attack and crit rate. Since her damage mostly comes from heavy attacks, the passive effect doesn’t really do much for her. It’ll mostly act as a stat booster. That’s fine, but it isn’t ideal compared to Roccia’s best weapon options.
As for free-to-play picks, Celestial Spiral is the best weapon around for a Roccia build. While it lacks crit stats, a hefty amount of attack and resonance energy can be obtained from this weapon.
Roccia is a sub-DPS best paired with Havoc hypercarry unit. Fortunately, there are several workable teams that can cater to both beginners and experienced players alike.
Now that Roccia’s on the roster, Camellya has a powerful new unit to team up with. Camellya’s a main damage dealer who can dish out huge damage across a big area with her spin-to-win attacks. She scales with havoc and basic attack damage, which makes her a perfect match with Roccia. The Shorekeeper rounds out the squad by acting as the healer and crit buffer.
Switching to Havoc Rover turns them into DPS with massive damage potential. Along with the right build, their damage can go even higher.
Roccia’s outro skill effect kicks in when she is swapped out. Havoc Rover’s overall damage is boosted, and her basic attacks will then hit even harder, especially during her Dark Surge form. To round out the team, add Verina as a healer and attack buffer.
Roccia meshes pretty well with Wuthering Waves’ best four-star DPS, Danjin. Among all the purple units in the game, she deals the most damage here.
Besides the obvious benefits of Roccia’s buff, her grouping makes it easier for Danjin to land her attacks. Given Danjin’s high-risk, high-reward playstyle, any crowd control helps. WuWa players can next slot in Baizhi as the sole 4-star healer in the game to complete this Roccia F2P team.
