Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 may stand out thanks to its realism, but some mods can help make the gameplay more convenient and accessible for players.
Fantasy RPG games are a dime a dozen. From the Elder Scrolls series to the Dragon Age games, there’s no shortage of options for players wanting to experience a fantasy world with magic, monsters, and sometimes Khajiits. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 stands out from many other such games with its realism and it being rooted in real historical events.
While the game has all the bells and whistles expected from an RPG, it’s much more grounded than most. Those unsure about some of the inconveniences of its simulated realism or simply wanting to better personalize their experience can try out some of the best Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 mods that might improve their experience. From visual mods to time-savers, here’s how to personalize Henry’s adventure in the Kingdom of Bohemia.
The top mod recommendations for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 generally concern making the game more convenient to play, but there are a few other changes in store as well. Here’s our list:
Saving in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a bit odd. While reaching set story points and resting in beds saves the player’s data, saving in the overworld without quitting the game requires a Saviour Schnapps in-game item. These potions are bought, found, or brewed using the right ingredients, which can get repetitive.
Fortunately, the Unlimited Saving II mod for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 lets players quickly save the game whenever they wish without any such requirement. All players must do is press the F5 button to quicksave their progress and continue with the game without fear of losing progress.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is fairly grounded, which can make the gameplay rather slow. Arguably the biggest example of this is when players pick herbs from the ground which requires a third-person cutscene of Henry kneeling and picking those herbs. While this is charming at first, seeing the same cutscene play out each such time can get stale fast.
The Instant Herb Picking II mod for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 removes the third-person animation, letting players pick their herbs instantly. While it doesn’t add much to the overall gameplay, it does make things much snappier for players.
Using ranged weapons such as bows and crossbows is much easier in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 than in the sequel. Since the weapons are centered, players can accurately aim and shoot enemies and other targets. Those wanting to make things easier and more like traditional first-person games can use the Totally Unnecessary Reticle for Bows and Crossbows mod.
The mod does exactly what its name suggests. It enables the reticle for bows and crossbows through an in-engine command. Whether players want it for accessibility or convenience, it provides a nice customization option not otherwise available in the game.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a beautiful game with realistic NPC models and immersive environments. However, this also means the game is rather demanding for PC players and their rigs. Those who don’t have powerful PCs that meet the game’s taxing requirements can check out the Ultra Low Graphics Mode mod.
Like other mods of this nature, installing this mod makes the game look like it was made for the original PlayStation console. Regardless, it allows players experience the game’s story without upgrading their rigs.
Like most other RPGs, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 features limited inventory carry weight for Henry. Picking up items increases the player’s carry weight, over-encumbering them fast. Those who want to avoid this inconvenience can always use the More Carry Weight mod.
With the mod installed, players can increase the total carry weight in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. That increased weight mount ranges from double the default weight to an infinite amount, ensuring players that they can haul around as much loot as they want without worrying about bumping into hard limits.
