ExtraEmily banned from Twitch for a third time, but suspension lifted within 24 hours
Emily “ExtraEmily” Zhang is one of Twitch’s most popular creators, which makes her on-stream stunts all the more concerning. Her latest stunt resulted in a Twitch suspension, but many viewers aren’t satisfied with the outcome.
Twitch has recently
changed how its enforcement system works, allowing streamers to be suspended from certain activities while their channels remain accessible. That’s the case with ExtraEmily: she can’t stream on her Twitch channel, but viewers can still watch past broadcasts, and she can comment and use other platform features.
Here’s everything we know so far about ExtraEmily’s suspension and how it compares to her previous infractions.

ExtraEmily took a
break from streaming in April 2026, but she returned soon after and has already landed in trouble with Twitch. The livestreaming platform doesn’t publicly disclose why it takes enforcement action against streamers, a policy that has remained in place since its launch and is unlikely to change anytime soon. As a result, viewers are often left to speculate about why a creator was suspended.
In ExtraEmily’s case, however, the reason behind her latest Twitch suspension wasn’t difficult to infer. A clip of her went viral on social media,
showing her reading chat while driving before nearly causing a collision. She swerved sharply to avoid another vehicle before apologizing. The incident prompted immediate backlash, with many viewers calling on Twitch to take stronger action. Some even argued that Twitch should permanently ban ExtraEmily, citing previous incidents involving the creator. ExtraEmily later confirmed on Discord that
the driving incident was the reason for her latest suspension.

Including this latest suspension, ExtraEmily has been banned on Twitch three times, with each incident stemming from livestreaming while driving dangerously. She was banned in 2023 for reading chat while driving, and again in 2025 after reportedly running a red light while distracted by chat. Following the 2025 incident, ExtraEmily even claimed that “she does it all the time”. Many viewers have pointed to the repeated incidents, arguing that reckless driving has seemingly become a pattern in her streams.
Fellow streamer Zach “Asmongold” Hoyt, who now
multistreams on Kick
and Twitch, went a step further by
calling on Twitch to ban any streamer who broadcasts while driving, arguing that the practice is simply too dangerous. ExtraEmily’s suspension was only temporary, allowing her to return to Twitch once it expired. Some viewers even joked that she’d be back in less than a day — and they were right.
Her Twitch channel now shows that she’s no longer restricted from streaming.
The incident has also reignited debate over whether Twitch should impose harsher penalties on creators who engage in dangerous behavior while live and whether the platform should bear any responsibility if a streamer causes harm while broadcasting.
