Asmongold announces his return to streaming, what to expect
Twitch streamer Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt has revealed in a new video that he’ll be returning to streaming soon after having taken a break to spend time with his ailing father.
Asmongold went on an indefinite hiatus earlier this month because of his father’s medical condition. The streamer had said that his return would depend on his father’s progress and possible recovery. Unfortunately, he later informed fans that his father had passed away.
Many of the streamer’s fans offered their support and condolences, but wondered if Asmongold would lengthen his break as a result of the passing. Asmongold has now revealed that he will return “soon” while giving his reasoning as to why.
Asmongold says he’ll return to streaming to “honor his father”
In his new video, Asmongold revealed that his father wanted him to continue streaming, and that he will return soon to “honor the wish.”
Asmongold didn’t give a timeframe or specify exactly when he would return to streaming, but stated that he
may return in just a week
or perhaps in even less time, if he’s feeling ready for such a return sooner than he himself expects. The streamer understandably said it will take him time to get past recent events, but despite this, he still wants to return to streaming soon, as he believes that’s what his father would’ve wanted for him.

Asmongold explained in brief that his father had been admitted into hospice care, and on the same day, the streamer’s father questioned why his son as to why he wasn’t streaming. The streamer said that his father was still thinking about his son not creating content for his fans, even in the face of his own health issues. He proudly offered that that’s the same “kind of man” his father was, and the content creator expressed his appreciation for being able to be there for his father, stating that he considered himself lucky despite the misfortune.
Asmongold’s father was initially being treated for a more typical illness, but a test later diagnosed him as experiencing acute liver failure, which turned out to be much more serious and ultimately couldn’t be resolved. The streamer indicated that he’d received tremendous support from others in the streaming community when he’d revealed that his father’s condition was serious and that he was taking
a break
in order to better take care of him.
A few days after going on his streaming hiatus, Asmongold informed fans that his father had passed away.
In his tweet, he mentioned that his father was the last remaining family member in the state he lives in, and that Asmongold would “endure but never be the same.”
The content creator’s fans hope that a return to streaming will bring a bit of normalcy back to Asmongold’s life.
