Why Asmongold and Nina Lin are in drama after Lin’s Twitch unban
Why Asmongold and Nina Lin are in drama after Lin's Twitch unban
Kick streamer Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt has made clear his issue with Nina “NinaDaddyisBack” Lin and the handling of her ban on Twitch, and the resulting back-and-forth between the two has resulted in outright feuding and public drama.
Nina Lin was banned from Twitch following a resurfaced clip of her apparently harassing FaZe Clan member Said. Many fans called for the streamer to face consequences for her action, and she was soon banned from the streaming platform. But those same fans were displeased with Twitch only taking action months after the incident when it went viral. This upset sentiment increased after Twitch unbanned Nina Lin just a short time later.
Nina was quickly banned again, only to return to Twitch yet again shortly after that. Asmongold publicly reacted to Nina Lin’s unban and Twitch’s stance on her behavior, kicking off drama between the two streamers.
How did the drama between Asmongold and Nina Lin start?
Kick streamer Asmongold
reacted to a social media post announcing Nina Lin’s return to Twitch, questioning how her documented harassment had only resulted in a one-week ban. This led to Nina Lin responding, and a bitter back-and-forth between Asmongold and Lin was underway.
Asmongold echoed the sentiment of many viewers who had expressed outrage that Twitch seemingly does not take incidents like this one on its streams seriously enough. He even suggested that now was the time for Twitch users to contact the platform’s advertisers, as that seemed to be the only way for the platform to take these things more seriously.

Nina Lin reacted to Asmongold in her return stream and responded in a similar vein to the streamer and “all the haters.” The streamer referred to Asmongold as someone “who lives in the basement of his mom’s house,” claiming that he was obsessed and even in love with her.
Asmongold then clapped back at Nina, keeping the drama alive and viewers online engaged. The streamer suggested Nina was unbanned too quickly, as was evidenced by her immediately insulting her “haters” instead of reflecting on her actions. He said
Nina Lin was banned
because of what she did, nothing to do with Asmongold or others, and that she needed to better understand that.
Nina Lin is apparently doesn’t seem to be taking the situation too seriously despite the flak she has received, as her return stream consisted of a prison break and she referred to her ban as a vacation. This only further riled up some of those onlookers who were already upset. Given
recent events
involving Twitch and streamers being harassed, it’s probably a point of drama that the streaming giant wishes would go away sooner than later.
