As Asmongold officially joins Kick, is he leaving Twitch?

Asmongold has officially joined Kick as a partnered streamer, and that has the content creator’s legion of fans speculating as to whether he might be leaving Twitch.
Kick now makes it easier than ever for streamers to multistream, and Asmongold is just the latest to put the new feature to the test. After voicing interest in livestreaming across a variety of platforms including X, he’s now made his multistreaming debut official with Kick in his crosshairs. Bu what does that mean for his Twitch channels?
Is Asmongold leaving Twitch?
No, Asmongold is not leaving Twitch, but he is going to multistream through both Kick and Twitch, and potentially via X, starting on June 2.
On May 28, Asmongold shared that he’s been talking to staff at X about helping improve the platform’s streaming UI. One of his clips even caught the attention of X owner Elon Musk, who seemed interested in the idea. During his next stream, Asmongold said he’s seriously considering branching out to other streaming platforms. Now, just a day later, he has confirmed that he’s officially joining Kick.

While Asmongold will now be streaming on Kick, his arrival looks very different from the high-profile signings the platform has become known for. Unlike such streamers as Félix “xQc” Lengyel and Adin Ross, who joined Kick with massive exclusivity deals and large signing bonuses, Asmongold says that he has received no upfront payment from his new home. Instead, he joined through Kick’s standard partner program, a route typically reserved for smaller creators or those just testing the waters. He also made it clear that he won’t be streaming exclusively on Kick any time soon.
“Nothing is going to change if you like watching on Twitch. Not a single thing,” Asmongold said. “I am going to be multistreaming. I am just simply going to be streaming on Kick as well. I am not leaving Twitch.”
According to the streamer, he would’ve started multistreaming much earlier if Kick had allowed it, but the platform only just began supporting multistreaming in April 2024. Prior to that, Kick’s policies made it difficult for creators to split their streams without risking the loss of partnership perks or facing technical hurdles. With the new multistream system now in place on Kick, it’s far easier for creators to join in.
It remains to be seen what direction this all takes next, considering Asmongold’s long and controversial history with Twitch. While he’s built a tangible career on the platform, it hasn’t been without a few blemishes. His most recent ban came in October 2024 following an political rant, after which he accused Twitch of showing favoritism toward a particular group. Even with the streamer’s remarks about staying put on Twitch, fans will likely continue to speculate as to whether this might be the first move towards Asmongold leaving the platform at some point in the future.
