Asmongold highlights drama with Kaceytron amid lawsuit worries

Asmongold Kaceytron drama

Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt has long been embroiled in drama with fellow streamer Kaceytron, and attention has now once again returned to the pair after the latter mentioned him while ranting about a lawsuit she is involved in with Ethan Klein.

Asmongold is by no means new to drama and public beefs, and that’s in no small part because the content creator specifically posts so many reaction videos, many of which aren’t taken in jest or constructively. Kaceytron has been in the news among streaming circles almost as frequently ever since Ethan Klein filed a copyright lawsuit against her, as she has repeatedly spoken about the distress the suit has placed her in.

Kaceytron recently claimed that she is facing related harassment, and Asmongold saw fit to try and call her out in response, showing evidence that he is the one being harassed by the streamer as their drama continues.

What started the drama between Asmongold and Kaceytron?

The drama between Asmongold and Kaceytron isn’t new, as the two have been going back and forth for almost a decade.

Kaceytron recently rekindled beef with Asmongold when she called him out for allegedly only wanting those streamers who identify as a “straight man” to be invited to The Streamer Awards. This was met with harsh criticism from Asmongold’s fans, with some claiming Kaceytron was just trying to curry favor with Blaire “QTCinderella,” who oversees The Streamer Awards and recently debuted the event’s nominations.

Asmongold seemingly ignored the comment about The Streamer Awards nominations and didn’t respond at the time. But just a few days later, Kaceytron shared how the Ethan Klein lawsuit was affecting her, and Asmongold decided to react to that in a new stream.

Kaceytron claimed in a video that Asmongold and other streamers would react to her content and harass her for it, stoking this latest drama. Asmongold questioned why he wouldn’t react to it, before speaking to some of what Kaceytron herself has said publicly.

This included her comments about Asmongold’s late mother and Ethan Klein’s kids. The streamer then opened X and showcased how Kaceytron had in fact been harassing him, scrolling through a long list of tweets she had directed towards him over the months and years. He then compared this to his tweets directed towards her, of which there were only a relative few. Though he did not hide that those few tweets did include some direct insults he had thrown her way, playing his part in another of his public disputes with streamers.

Why is Ethan Klein suing Kaceytron?

Ethan Klein has filed a lawsuit against Kaceytron accusing the streamer of malicious copyright infringement with the intent to deprive him of income.

The lawsuit filed against Kaceytron is relatively straightforward, as she is accused of streaming a group viewing session of Ethan Klein’s Content Nuke video without providing anything transformative, or even much in the way of her own commentary, that might qualify the airing under fair use laws. Thus Klein claims Kaceytron deprived him of income by essentially streaming his content on her channel.

Kaceytron has apparently attempted to settle the suit by offering Ethan Klein $17,500, but the lawsuit is for maximum statutory damages of up to $150,000. It doesn’t seem that Ethan wants to settle, and if Kaceytron is found guilty, she may have to pay for Klein’s legal fees as well.

Kaceytron has also set up a GoFundMe for legal fees and has claimed that the lawsuit is adversely affecting her, expressing her wish for the lawsuit to be settled so that she can continue supporting her mother and sister.
