Asmongold announces indefinite break from streaming, here's why
Popular streamer Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt has announced that he would be taking a break from streaming after not releasing any new content for almost a week, before going on to explain exactly why.
Asmongold is a significantly popular streamer who primarily streams on Twitch but has recently started to multistream his content on other platforms, most notably Kick. The content creator livestreams various content, including gaming and reaction streams. He has garnered a loyal fan following over the years that watches him consistently, dating back to his days as a World of Warcraft streamer. Asmongold recently stopped streaming and has now officially explained that he’s taking a hiatus because of something else that’s become a greater priority for him.
Why is Asmongold not streaming?
Asmongold’s father is going through medical treatment for an illness, and the content creator has said that he won’t be streaming until the situation is resolved.
In his announement, Asmongold talked about his father’s treatment and how it seemed that everything was alright at first, but then complications later arose. The streamer wants to prioritize tending to the situation as it requires his full attention. He couldn’t give a timeframe on exactly how long he’ll be gone for, as the situation isn’t in his hands. Asmongold stated that he would like nothing better than to continue streaming content for his fans as usual, but that his obligation to his father must remain his priority.
Asmongold on X
Asmongold going on a hiatus isn’t completely unexpected, and some of his fans already had an idea that the streamer may ultimately have to take a break from streaming. He has kept fans updated about his father’s declining health and also mentioned
in a previous stream
that he may have to stop streaming for as much as a few months, depending on how the situation evolved.
He told fans he streamed for them despite being completely exhausted by his circumstances at the time, but that this routine wasn’t sustainable, and thus a break would be inevitable. He cited “life circumstances” that he’s going through as the reason for his burnout. The content creator has gone so far as to say that he was only just holding it together.
Other streamers including
John “Tectone” Robertson
have expressed their support for Asmongold and wished his father a swift recovery, and many of the content creator’s fans have shared the same sentiment. Asmongold admitted that he doesn’t currently have any set expectations or timetable for his return to streaming because of how uncertain his father’s condition is, but that he will continue to update fans in the meantime as things progress.
