Someone grab the confetti! It looks like Bloodhound and Fuse may be the first characters in the Apex Legends universe to get married in-game.

Although Apex Legends is considered by some to be a dying game, the team still seems to be putting effort into storylines between Legends. Bloodhound and Fuse are two of the many playable characters, each with their own skill set. Bloodhound is a recon character, able to track down any foe and scan for them through walls. Fuse, meanwhile, blasts everyone and everything with explosives. Despite their skill and utility in the game, the pair is known for more than just taking down enemies.

Fans have watched their relationship bloom from platonic to romantic over the last few years. Now, Apex Legends has revealed to fans that Fuse and Bloodhound are ready for the next step and are on their way to a marriage.

Animated short shows Fuse proposing to Bloodhound

In December 2024, Apex Legends posted a new addition to the FuseHound saga featuring Fuse proposing.

The short on X features Fuse telling Bloodhound about how he went to their family to perform the traditional proposal rights. According to the animation, these included tasks like carrying rocks and soldering in massive blazes. Fuse then proposes with a beautiful blue-patterned axe.

“With our destinies aligned, before the All-Father, our hands shall be fast in the old ways,” Bloodhound says in acceptance.

This ultimately means Fuse and Bloodhound will get married, though it’s unknown how this will be presented in Apex Legends or its media profiles.

FuseHound, as some of their fans call them, can only become a more formidable combination in marriage. Voice actors for both Legends have spoken about how much it means to them to have representation in a major game like Apex Legends. Bloodhound is nonbinary, and Fuse is pansexual. Fuse voice actor Ben Prendergast said in 2023 that “it’s super important that it’s represented in this way, and [he’s] super proud to be a part of it.”

What’s the lore of Bloodhound and Fuse’s romance in Apex Legends?

Apex Legends that Bloodhound and Fuse were a canonical romantic couple in the game in 2022.

Players have noted flirtatious in-game banter between the two Legends since developers added Fuse to the roster in Season 8. Originally, Bloodhound disliked Fuse because of the latter’s tendency to invade personal space. Interactions in the The Legacy Antigen event, however, confirmed that Bloodhound had a crush on Fuse. Later, in the Friends Like These questline, Vantage directly says that the pair are in a romantic relationship.

In October 2022, the Apex Legends team went out of their way to establish Fuse and Bloodhound as an official couple. The official then Twitter account posted an animated short showing the two confessing their feelings for each other and kissing. In September 2023, developers introduced a special new heirloom called the Razor’s Edge, engraved with Fuse’s initials WG. Now, with the proposal and upcoming wedding, Fuse and Bloodhound seem to be a stronger couple than ever.

Will Bloodhound and Fuse get married in-game? Apex Legends has not said anything yet. At the very least, it isn’t unlikely that the axe Fuse uses to propose to Bloodhound will become an heirloom at some point like the Razor’s Edge. Hopefully, fans will get the Bloodhound-Fuse wedding they want to see in the world.
