The 2026 League of Legends World Championship is just around the corner and 19 teams from across the globe will duke it out in North America. This year offers plenty of great storylines, as T1 vies for their fourth in a row, Chovy tries to overcome his demons, and the West tries to rise. Let’s take a look at the 19 teams that have qualified for Worlds 2026.

All 19 Teams at Worlds 2026

The tournament sees 19 teams take to the Rift at various stages: four in the Play-in stage and 16 in the Swiss (including the one Play-in team). Hanwha Life were the first team to qualify for the event because they won MSI 2026. With BLG finishing runners-up, they also earned the LPL a fourth slot.

The LCS, LEC, and LCP all have three teams attending the tournament, two guaranteed in Swiss and the other starting life in the Play-ins. The CBLoL is back at Worlds this year, with the region getting two slots, one of those being in the Play-ins. Let’s take a look at which teams qualified for Worlds:

How Are Slots Allocated?

The LCK and the LPL have historically had four seeds at Worlds. This year, it was not predetermined. The LCK earned its extra slot through Hanwha Life winning the Mid-Season Invitational. Meaning, as long as they didn’t fail to qualify for the Playoffs, they were virtually guaranteed a spot from the start of the split.

Hanwha Life Esports (HLE)

The LPL finished second at MSI, so they were guaranteed four slots. We were very close to the LCS having half of its league at Worlds, with LYON almost taking down Hanwha Life. The LCP also retains its three Worlds 2026 slots, with the CBLoL getting two after being revived following the LTA disaster.

Worlds 2026 kicks off in the Play-in stage on October 15, as Cloud9, Karmine Corp, MVK Esports, and one of LOS and Furia will take to the stage at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. In what will be a highly competitive tournament, it is still not clear which region will win Worlds — and that is what adds to the excitement.

☑️ Editor’s View

While history does not bode well in their favor, I do believe this is the year that Gen.G is going to get it done on the international stage, specifically, the World Championship. The team is much improved from where they were earlier in the year, and perhaps missing MSI was the kick they needed to come back stronger, just in time for Worlds.

It’s a question of when, not if, that Chovy will become a world champion. In my view, he’s the best player in the world and will finally get the title that has eluded him thus far.

BLAST SLAM VIII Finals predictions and preview Michael Hassall It’s been a long road, but after a strangely-formatted group stage, and a decidedly anticlimactic playoffs, we’re down to the final three teams in BLAST SLAM VIII. The finals are today (Oct. 11) and we’ll see the premier teams in Dota 2 clash. Perhaps disappointingly, we’re not seeing a new wave of top-teams at the pinnacle of Dota 2 competition, with the three final teams being the same trio we’ve ...

Who will prevail?: BLAST SLAM VIII Playoffs preview, predictions, and more Michael Hassall After a week of intense Group Stage, Last Chance and Seeding stage matches, and a few days of rest, BLAST SLAM VIII returns tomorrow (Oct. 8) with the Playoffs. If we’re honest, there haven’t been too many surprises. We’d liked to have seen a BetBoom or Team Liquid make the cut, but ultimately these aren’t the teams of earlier in the year, and with new rosters comes new uncertainty. That's ...

Dota 2’s new Tidehunter Arcana is mind-blowing, but prepare to spend $200+ to get it Michael Hassall Night owls in North America and early risers in Europe woke up to a brand new Dota 2 Arcana, the first new release of Dota’s rarest and most-coveted cosmetics since 2024. The recipient? Tidehunter, whose Maw of the Megladon Arcana transforms the already selachian sea-dweller into a full-blown shark. But while Arcana’s have traditionally been part of big events in Dota 2, either the now-discontinued Battle Passes, or most recently, ...

LeBron James will earn more from prediction markets than basketball this year Michael Hassall Superstar basketball player Lebron James will earn more from prediction markets this year than from playing ball thanks to his mind-blowing 15 million dollar Polymarket sponsorship.
