Content creation organization One True King surprisingly started streaming on Kick recently and fans now know why OTK decided to join the Stake-backed platform after a recent stream featuring Nmplol.
OTK instantly became a hit among viewers upon its original debut because of the various personalities linked with the organization. OTK once boasted massive streamers including Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt and Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo, but many popular streamers have left OTK since its initial inception. Will Neff was the latest name to leave, and after his departure fans began speculating that the organization wouldn’t be around for much longer.
In June, OTK surprised fans by announcing that its streamers would begin streaming on Kick. Some felt it was long overdue, while others began speculating that the organization is making a last-ditch effort to return to its former glory. Curious fans didn’t have to wait long for an official response, as Nick “Nmplol” Polom has revealed exactly why OTK joined Kick.
OTK is apparently going through a tough time, and Nmplol says it needs sponsors, revenue, and fresh money that can change things around for the organization.
Nmplol stated in a stream that he knows many fans are surprised and want to know what made OTK join Kick. The streamer didn’t mince words and said it’s no secret that OTK has been “canceled” multiple times. He went on to say that OTK also lost sponsors in that process. The content creator elaborated that losing sponsorships means losing money, and potentially being unable to pay OTK staff.
Nmplol claimed that the deal with Kick is beneficial in that OTK staff now won’t be losing their jobs. The organization will make more money and be able to pay those who work with it. He stated that all of the “OG staff” is with OTK and that the partnership with Kick Studios gives it the freedom to “do whatever they want.”
OTK won’t stream on Kick exclusively, but fans are still divided on the organization’s latest chapter and the supposed reasons behind it.
OTK co-founder Mizkif said he won’t join Kick after speaking on personal issues between himself and the streaming platform.
One of the biggest reasons the streaming alliance is receiving flack for partnering with Kick is Mizkif. The streamer stated he wouldn’t join Kick because of bad blood that exists between its owners and himself. Mizkif clarified that he doesn’t blame other members for making the move, as he understands that Kick can offer significant revenue opportunities.
The streamer said no other platform can compete with Kick’s Partner Program, and he admitted he’d make less money on Twitch than he might on Kick. But Mizkif reiterated that he couldn’t move to the platform regardless as he isn’t yet mentally prepared to stream on Kick.
